A birthstone for January is a deep dark vibrant red “garnet” semi-precious gemstone.  The garnet gemstone deeply resembles the look of pomegranate seeds from the rich vibrant red fruit. The name ‘garnet’ is actually derived from the latin word pomegranate. My favorite look for this dark deep red stone is when we use an all sterling silver satin finish setting.  This all silver setting appeals to capture the entire essence of this deserving rich garnet stone. November’s Birthstone Citrine Sterling Silver Personalized Baby Child or Adult Name Bracelet

November’s special birth month unfolds a beautiful gold lemony twist of non other the citrine gemstone or closely known relative of the “topaz” traditional birthstone gemstone.  The citrine has a softer focal balance of a sunshine yellow instead of a deeper hue of gold tones found with the topaz.  Equally.. the stones both represent November’s birthstone.  I have chosen the citrine for our birthstone jewelry pieces especially for this reason: that the citrine has a more sutle appeal than the darker topaz.  The citrine is more mellow yellow to me, and I like this softer tone look for our jewelry.  The citrine in my personal view has a lighter and prettier look against the sterling silver.  Citrine is a member of the largest semi-precious gemstone family of quartz.  Yet.. the yellow stones of citrine is one of the least abundant stones found within the quartz family.  We offer the citrine November birthstone bracelet on sale for the month!

October’s Birthstone Name Bracelet Peruvian Opals and Rose Crystals

October is a special month to reflect upon for us.  In our family we celebrate two birthday’s within this month.. my youngest daughter Marissa and myself.  This bracelet using natural pink opal was originally created in her honor of her October birth month.  That is why I do find this particular bracelet style very close to my heart.  I’ve always been drawn to the birthstone of “pink opal”; I found it necessary to track down this pretty pink opaque stone and make a bracelet containing this stone.

My favorite in the natural opal stone is the Peruvian Pink Opal.  The name bracelet I created uses a grade a round 4mm smooth soft Peruvian Opal.  The stone itself is slightly rare and was a little hard to find in a nice grade A quality.  There two important factors to keep in mind to care for this semi-precious little gem; opals contain water, as they are formed near rock and water formations, this makes opals sensitive to excessive heat.  The second factor is that the opal stones should not be worn in water as it can soften the stones.   My favorite accent beads to enhance the look and draw significance to the light soft pink stone is the bali sterling silver twists, and a few 20K gold filled accents and light pink freshwater pearls.  We offer a few different styles of bracelets  this month (0ne sale) to capture the October’s “gemstone birthstone” using the natural Pink Peruvian Opal.

September’s Sapphire Precious Gemstone Birthstone Name Bracelets

Sapphires look sensational with lots of sterling silver accents.  Most of our precious sapphire gemstone bracelets contain various accent beads in all .925 sterling silver and with different types of finishes.  My favorite being the sparkling stardust to dazzle and bring brilliance to each deep dark sapphire.

The sapphire is considered to be one of the Four (4) precious gemstones (ruby, emerald, sapphire and diamond). A sapphire is fairly similar to the ruby, and posses all of same qualities. You will see purple sapphires and these are a lower quality and much lower cost. The darker the sapphire, the more expensive the gemstone. A good sapphire will measure a hue of 85% being blue, where the 15% may be purple, but never should contain a green hue. If you have heart of the “star sapphire” this means a special phenomenon know as aster-ism. This effect displays a needle-like intrusion that causes a unique star shaped pattern in the center of the gemstone when using an overhead light source. Such as the “Star of India” is the largest known star sapphire in the world.

Sapphire Gemstone Care: Please care for your bracelet by using a soft bristle brush, warm water and a mild detergent, do not use a commercial cleaner, ultrasonic jewelry cleaner as it will damage the beads. Please avoid strong UV sunlight rays and heat exposure of any sort.

July is Dressed in Summer Sensational Red Rubies Birthstone Bracelets

July is represented with the beautiful precious gemstone of ruby.  Rubies are one of the four precious gemstones.  The ruby has a molecular hardness of 9 on the mohs scale from 1 to 10.  They are the 2nd most hardest mineral next to the diamond.  They are evaluated on the four C’s as the diamond, with color, cut, clarity and carat.

Although.. rubies can contain many different hues such as orange, pink or purple.  The best saturation of color should depict the color of purple hue, this would be the best choice for the ruby because it darkens the red ruby – making the ruby more vibrant.  However.. you do not want too much purple or this changes the color entirely – turning into a purple ruby.  The rubies we sell are true clarity and saturation to a natural “red” vibrant grade A ruby.  They are deep and precise in the true red origin.  They are also natural and not enhanced. We offer a smooth 4mm rondelle cut and we also offer a 4mm faceted rondelle cut adding an extra sparkle to the already beautiful dark ruby.  Rubies look sensational with bright white sparkling freshwater pearls.  And I find that rubies are captured in a beautiful essence when paired with a matte sterling silver finish bead.

There are a few styles we offer this month on sale with both pearl and sterling setting, which ever captures your eye!  Although rubies look sensational in natural bright sunlight.. please protect your precious rubies by keeping them out of direct sunlight.. this can change the hue and lighten them to a pink tone, still pretty but then you loose the true essence of your precious vibrant red ruby.
